A project I came up with to help our Ukrainian friends

From Jan McQueen:

For those of you who were unable to attend March’s Guild meeting whether it be via Zoom or in person…. I introduced a project I came up with to help our Ukrainian friends who have been forced to flee their homeland for obvious reasons.

I am putting together quilt kits to be sewn up and delivered to the refugees once they’re in our communities. I cannot do this without the help of my sewing/quilting sisters of OCQG and their friends.

Therefore I am asking for your help. Your donations of:

  • 2 ½ inch x WOF strips
  • Finished quilt blocks – 8 1/2 “to 12 ½”
  • 1 yard of larger pieces of fabricAll of the above in shades of blue/yellow/white or sunflower prints
Cash donations to help purchase batting and fabric for quilt backs.

Quilters are known as piecemakers, making things whole again.

Won’t you please help bring PEACE and LOVE to our Ukrainian friends and future neighbors.

Please pick up a simple kit and return it to Jan McQueen. Call me at 541-961-0915 and I’ll arrange to pick up your finished top and/or donations if you’re unable to attend guild meetings or Community Quilters Open House on the 1st Thursday of each month.
