May 9, 2019

The meeting was called to order at 6 pm by Vice President Meralee Wilson. Members and guests were welcomed and invited to participate in the Guild’s Spring Potluck Meal.

Following the potluck, Jean Amundson made a motion to approve the April general meeting minutes, with Rose Shaw seconding.  The motion passed.

Norma Horn reported that the 2020 Raffle Quilt Committee had received several of the blocks for the raffle quilt.  They would like those who took blocks, but haven’t completed and returned them, to do so ASAP in order to meet their deadline.

2019 Quilt Show – Virginia Dale and Deborah Cagle volunteered to be the Small Gym Hanging Coordinators and Barbara Kinzel will handle the August 1 Set-Up Day Potluck.  The committee still needs a coordinator to handle the Set-Up and Take Down tables.  Melissa Hollenbeck encouraged early quilt registration and will be visiting satellite groups for ease in the registration process.  Teecia Cornelius had the Sponsored Ribbon sign-up sheet available.  For $10 you can sponsor a ribbon and pick a title for your award.  Evelyn DePaolo and Twy Hoch are still in need of volunteers to “work the show”.

Lisa Taylor requested more quilts for the Small Quilt Auction, 15”x15” maximum size.

The 2019 Raffle Quilt is on the road – May 18-19 at Yachats Commons during their Polly Plumb show, and June 15 at Waldport’s Beachcomber Days.

The next Documentation is May 18 at the Carriage House.  Twy Hoch noted that 1800 Lincoln County quilts have been documented since the start of the program, 20 years ago.

Finishing School is May 23, 10-4, at the Carriage House.  Bring your lunch and whatever you want to work on.

Membership – Ruth Johnson reported that we have 199 members, with 2 new ones joining at this meeting, Sherry Wynn and Rosemary Barrone from Waldport.

Challenge quilts are due at the June meeting and will be hung for voting.

There will be a sewing day on Saturday, May 11, 9-3 at Atonement Lutheran Church for all interested in making quilt tops for our Veterans Quilt Project.

2020 Retreat will be held Jan 28-31 at the Oregon Gardens and sign-ups are now open.
