Veteran’s Committee

It’s lots of fun to see Quilting friends and have a good visit. It’s mostly outside and the weather sounds like Spring has sprung.
The Veteran Project is hosting Open House at our Lee Palmer Accounting office space in Waldport on April 1.   We meet 10AM – 2PM.  We’ve given 11 quilts in the past 2 weeks & have about 8 veteran presentations scheduled for April 14.  We continue to need your support with blocks, quilt tops, labels, quilting, & binding.  We’ll have fabric & kits available.    The veterans are very appreciative & some overwhelmed with emotion at our gift of gratitude.  Thank you to each of you who participate in this project & help make it happen.                                   Membership directories, & Quilt Raffle tickets will be available too. You can drop off any community quilts as well.   Wishing Lindanne a speedy & complete recovery from surgery.   Best of all, we look forward to seeing your masked faces & hearing your voices!
See you soon,
Twy, Betty, Virginia, Cheryl & Rose. Any questions call Twy Hoch.
The Veteran’s Quilt Committee wants everyone in the guild who has helped with making the veteran’s quilts know how much they are appreciated.  Whether you have made blocks, made tops, quilted quilts, put on the binding, made labels, or anything else, your part is so appreciated and helped us award over 300 quilts so far to our vets.  You (the ones behind the scenes) don’t get to see the gratitude and joy that these quilts give to the vets.
Here are just a few excerpts from some of the thanks you notes that we have received.
“My heart is overflowing with gratitude and humility by your recognition…….this act of unsolicited kindness is simply beyond!”
“….want to take this opportunity to thank all of the quilters who make these beautiful quilts…..I will cherish it forever.”
“Your gift brightened my day and, it continues today and beyond.”
“Your thoughtfulness means a lot to me.  Your dedication to the Vets of Lincoln County is outstanding.”
“This quilt is a reminder of the American spirit veterans have fought to protect and will hold a special place in my heart.”
