A food vendor is needed to provide light refreshments such as cookies, muffins, and fruit, along with coffee, tea, and water. Wilma contacted local extension service for contact information for 4-H group. She was advised prior person who provided this at last quilt show has aged out of 4-H and is not available. No one responded to Wilma’s request.

Anyone have suggestions of groups who would be interested, please let us know. We also need someone the chair the food vendor committee.

Jane Szabo contacted Diane Tillotson regarding did she signup to head food vendor position. No she did not.
Kathleen Ritzman needs vendor envelope.
Barbara Kinzel needs Hostess Coordinator envelope.
Linda Reeve needs ribbon box.
Kathleen Ritzman will check with Diane Tillotson about who has storage unit key.

Question was asked about recreation center PA system. Jane Szabo said current system works well and general announcements are heard throughout the building. The guild also has system we can us if needed.

Discussion about where vendors can rent drapes for their booths. The local event supply rental is no longer in business. The other rental place on Hwy 20 doesn’t carry drapes. Darcy will ask Newport Chamber of Commerce about drapes and pipes.

Quilt show registration was talked about. Two quilt categories were removed. Jean Amundson will check guild website to see if she can still make changes.
Kathleen Ritzman, Jean Amundson, Linda Reeve, Darcy de la Rosa, Melissa Hollenbeck, Pat Laub, Jane Szabo, Barbara Kinzel, Jan McQueen, Lindanne Perdue, Vickie West, Joy Johnson, Debbie Mosley attended the 1st quilt show meeting. We want to thank you to all of you who attended the meeting and shared your suggestions and ideas.

It was decided to order quilt winner ribbons with safety pins to make it easier to attach to quilts.

Jan McQueen suggested doing a basket drawing instead of a treasure hunt this year. Her other guild does this for their guild’s quilt show. Each basket includes new donated items which are raffled off each day of the show. Some of us remember Mid-Valley Quilt Guild had baskets at their shows in the past.
Jean Amundson will update publicity contacts.

Kathleen asked about availability and location of loading carts for vendors to use Thursday and Saturday. The recreation center has some and needs a few days to gather them for our use. Some vendors have their own.

Meeting ended at 2:45.

Next meeting is April 14th at 1:45 at Newport Public Library entering from upstairs lobby, then use stairs or elevator to reach McEntee Room on lower level. The lower level exterior doors are locked.
