OREGON COASTAL QUILTERS GUILD GENERAL MEETING JUNE 13, 2019

The meeting was called to order at 6 p.m. by President, Diane Tillotson.

Announcements

A thank you card was received from SPCH Cardiac Rehab.

Quilt Show sign-up sheets are at the information table.

Diane announced that Sheila Stevens had a stroke.

VAC Display – Gloria Zirges

In order to promote our annual quilt show, we are having a small exhibit of art quilts in the Upstairs Gallery of the VAC, July 3-27.  Janet Webster, Tina McCann and Gloria Zirges coordinated the exhibit  by calling on Guild ribbon winners who create art quilts.  This category was selected as the best fit for the VAC’s mission.  In future years, if there is an interest, other quilt categories could be featured.

We have 12 Guild members and about 12-15 quilts.  Tom Webb, the VAC director, will hang the show

and handle the publicity. The show should be a positive way to create publicity for our annual show.

There is a tea party on July 5, 3-5, to introduce the exhibit.  Please come and bring a friend.  We’ll post information on the Guild’s blog.  The Upstairs Gallery is open Tuesday thru Saturday from 12-4.  Volunteers often staff the gallery, so if you have a free afternoon in July, please contact Janet Webster.  It’s a great spot to set up your machine or take your handwork and work while chatting with visitors.
