Remembering Virginia Fisher

Many of us remember Virginia Fisher as a longtime and devoted guild member and were sorry to hear of her recent death. I think the minutes may mention her past contributions to Community Quilters. She was also a founding member of Samaritan House for Homeless Families, and made a wall quilt that was raffled for the fund-raising tea each year. Samaritan House is now taking donations for an apartment to be named in her memory. People who want to help with that effort may send donations to Samaritan House at 715 SW Bay Street. (Sam House clients are also one of the guild’s community quilt recipients.)

Her name will also be added to the embroidered names on OCQG’s memory quilt.

Quilts Donated to Fire Victims

The quilters from Atonement Lutheran Church (where we meet in better times) gave 17 hand-tied quilts to the North Lincoln Hospital giveaway after the Otis fire.

Sewing Machine Needed

I am a member of the quilt guild and I’m looking to purchase a used Janome sewing machine for my daughter in law.  Please contact me if you have a machine that you’d like to sell.
