Community Quilter Update by Sue Stephenson

First off, I have canceled community quilters for the month of May. This only means that we will not be getting together at Ruth’s on May 7.  That said, I am hoping that all of us will continue to work on community quilt projects in our homes while we continue to shelter in place.
Number two. Ruth’s family fabrics in Waldport will be our drop off for masks, and any other items you need to get to the community quilyers committee for distribution. Ruth will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 2 to 4. She will have a receptacle by the back door just as you enter the shop. Many thanks to Ruth, and to Lee Palmer, for allowing us to use their businesses in this manner. Also, for our Newport and other “northern” locales, Quilters Cove remains open for drop offs weekdays from 11:30 to 2.
Thanks to all of you who continue to make masks and all the other items you are working on. Our collections and distributions continue even though we are not meeting. I will be posting a rundown of what we have distributed in a couple of weeks.
Stay safe!
