Community Quilters & Retreat Info

Community Quilters

Hello Community Quilters!  Don’t forget that we will be meeting this coming Thursday, February 7, at Ruth’s Family Fabrics in Waldport, from 10 to 2.  Bring something for lunch or plan to grab a bite at one of the local eateries.  We will be working on quilt top kit preparations, which involves selecting a pattern and fabrics and then cutting the pieces to make a kit for guild members to take home and complete.  It’s a really fun, creative process.  You don’t have to bring anything except your ideas and creativity.  Many of the agencies we serve have let us know their needs for 2019.  We will be planning our efforts for the year on Thursday, so don’t miss this meeting!  We hope to see some new faces at our get-together, so come and join us.  It’s a great way to meet other guild members.

“We have an ongoing need for pillowcases, burp cloths and the oncology bags.  We have also received a request from the cardiology department of the Newport hospital for the same bags as we supply for Oncology, but these would be with a “closure,” either a button and hole or using velcro.  This little bag pattern is on our website and is very easy to make  Please call me if you have any questions.”

Retreat Info

Just an after the Retreat note.  Hopefully everyone is home & rested up.  We truly hope everyone had a great time or at the least some great laughs.  You really have to have a sense of humor to attend lol.
Couple of things:  I have a few items that were left in the sewing room so please contact me.  Actually, I think one item belongs to a member’s and two of the Resort items ended up in the van.
I hope you get to attend the meeting & if so please bring your Retreat projects for Show & Share.
On a lighter note, some of you may have experienced something similar:
I’m showing Virgil the Magic Wallet from Nan’s class.
He: How does that work
She:  I don’t know
He:  Let me see it
He:  Peeking in at it on one side then turning it over & peeking at it from the other side.  Then he proceeds trying to pull it apart to look at it
She:  Give me that!! as she grabs it out of his hands.
