Information on Quilt Display at State Fair

This is some of the information I’ve received regarding the State Fair.

Please contact ASAP if you would like to go & for how long you want to work.  I prefer text since I only check my email once a day!  I’ll organize car pooling as soon as I know who’s coming. Should be fun. Thank you!

The Oregon State Fair is from August 25 to September 4, 2023 in Salem, OR at the State Fair and Exposition Center (2330 17th St NE, Salem, OR 97301). https://oregonstatefair.org

The booth is approximately 20 x 20 and your group can use the entire space and we would provide tables and chairs, as well as electrical outlets.  We will do a letter of agreement which will be sent out in early August. Admission and parking passes are provided for the demonstrators. Those passes can be electronic, or if preferred we could provide paper passes.  Please let us know your preference.

At your convenience let us know how many demonstrators will be coming that day, and how many tables and chairs are needed.

We would prefer 3-4 people to monitor the quilt area, but at a minimum, you should have 2 members present.  That way, one person always has their eyes on the quilt area and answering questions, interacting with the public, etc, and one person is staffing the table for “peoples choice” entries and selling tickets for your raffle quilt.

Thanks,  Marsha

Just clarifying about the quilt area.  If Penni is planning on demos from 11-6, and you’re fine with that, I’m just wondering about the quilt area monitoring.  We need people there from 10:00 AM-9:00 PM for the monitoring, so I just want to be sure that Penni realizes that coverage is longer than the demo area.  I know that Dorald said if a group has to leave by 8:00 PM and she knew about it ahead of time, she would cover the remaining hour.  So at a minimum the quilt monitoring is 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM.
