Retreat Openings and Virtual Show and Share
Retreat Openings: Message from Georgia Sabourin – Hello Everyone, hope all of you are doing well during this strange time. Just wanted to remind everyone that we have four open slots for the Retreat and would love to see you. There are 56 slots filled with four open and of course don’t feel shy about signing up and being put on the wait list as it seems to always be changing. Send Georgia an email if you would like to be added to the Retreat list. Everyone on the committee will look forward to seeing you.
Georgia, Cyndie, Gail & Jan M
Virtual Show and Share: All members with email addresses should have gotten a personal email inviting participation in a virtual show and share via Zoom on August 13th at 1:00, the usual date of our general membership meeting. Pick two of your favorite projects that you have completed and let Nan know that you want to participate no later than August 8th. If you would feel more comfortable just talking about your project, send Nan a picture and she will create a display that everyone can see. If you would like assistance in learning how to use Zoom, give Nan a call or send her email. The executive board has been meeting this way for the last several months and while it is not the same as in person, it is fun to reconnect and see friends.
Connection information was in the email, but there will be another message closer to the time of the meeting. If you did not receive the email, please call Nan (541-961-5610).
Michele Christianson: Velma Freudenthal informed me last week that Michele Christianson died last Tuesday July 21st after a long illness. Michele was a member of the guild since 1997 and was a talented quilter, designer, and teacher. She touched the lives of many and her light still shines through them. Michele’s son Evan will be in Gleneden Beach for about a month cleaning out her house and making final arrangements. If any of you would like to send a card of condolence, he can be reached at Michele’s address: PO Box 443, Gleneden Beach, OR 97389. We have not received word of any memorial service as of this post.
Melissa Hollenbeck will be resuming her position as Blog Editor next week after recuperating from surgery. Welcome back, Melissa! We look forward to your colorful and informative posts – especially this poor substitute!
