SPECIAL MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD OF THE  OREGON COASTAL QUILT GUILD – MAY 13, 2021

The special meeting of the Executive Committee of the Oregon Coastal Quilt Guild was held via Zoom on May 13, 2021 and called to order by President Meralee Wilson at 12:01 p.m.  A quorum was present.

Special Business – To determine whether to hold the 2021 Annual Quilt Show in light of Covid-19 ongoing restrictions and general uncertainty.  A detailed discussion was held in which the members of the Executive Board reviewed the limitations of the venue, which limited gatherings to 100 people at one time, which would, in light of the number of volunteers, restrict the number of attendees to approximately 50 at one time, the loss of revenue in light of such restrictions, and the comfort level of the Guild’s members.  Jean Amundson moved to cancel the 2021 Annual Quilt Show in light of such uncertainty.  Cindi McEntee seconded the motion.  Upon a vote, the motion carried and the 2021 Annual Quilt Show was cancelled.

A discussion then ensued regarding the co-chairs of the 2021 Annual Quilt Show.  The co-chairs, Darcy de la Rosa and Cindi McEntee, each announced they would not be able to chair or co-chair the 2022 Annual Quilt Show.

Jane Szabo questioned when the Atonement Lutheran Church would be open again so the Guild could have its monthly meetings in person.  She inquired because she needs to know whether to schedule speakers in person or by Zoom.  Jean Amundson responded that the church would re-open sometime in the next few months.
