Quilt Show Update

The Quilt Show is only three months away, and there are only a little over two months left to register your quilts.  Registration is open on the website. If you need help with a picture, bring your quilt to the Guild meeting or call one of us for help.

NEW THIS YEAR:

If you are registering quilts for judging, you will need to work one shift during the week of the Quilt Show (two-hour increments between 8:45 am and 5:00 pm on Friday or between 8:45 am and 4:15 pm on Saturday).  View the Volunteer Schedule on the website to see jobs/times available to be filled.

The one shift includes all of your judged quilts per member; however, it is in addition to your shift for entering items in the Boutique. If you are not able to work, then bring $5 cash (per member, not per quilt) with your quilts at Intake. There is no fee for nonjudged quilts entered.

BUT WHY?

It takes lots of volunteers to work that week to put on this show, and we need your help. For the Quilt Show to be its most successful, everyone needs to share the load of volunteering.  Judging costs the Guild almost $2,000, and although we want to have this available to our members to improve our quality of quilts, it still costs money.

Thanks to Wilma R. for chairing the Quilt Setup Potluck on Thursday; everyone needs energy as we set up the Quilt Show.

Start cleaning out your closets, bins, and sewing rooms of extra quilt-related items. You can donate items at the Guild meetings for Grab Bags or get it ready to sell in the Boutique.  Numbers and tags will be available, starting at the May Guild meeting.

Don’t forget to start signing up on the posters for volunteer times.

If you have any question, don’t hesitate to email, text, or call us.

Next Quilt Show meeting is Thursday, May 16, 1:00 pm at the Newport Library or on Zoom.
