Program – Trunk Show by Annette Duerr – Bags and More Bags

Last July, Penni and Lynn were at a retreat in Finely Together they found Annette Duerr as a speaker.  Annette is a Lebannon native who has been quilting for 30+ years and making bags for 15 years.

Using cork provides a water-resistant surface to you bag and it doesn’t stretch.  When sewing cork, it better to use a size 90 needle with fabric.  Also better to use size 5 zipper for bags as they hold up better (the sizing number of zipper is teeth size).  Cork is expensive so you need to lay out the cork with the back facing up and lay out your pieces so before you cut you can get all of you pieces out the most efficient.

Give bags a try.

Plug for “Finely Together” shop in Lebannon is have once a month retreat that is a Friday/Saturday retreat.  And more classes will be coming this next year.
