Variation on a Half Log Cabin
What is a “half log cabin”? The block starts with a dark square and then adds rectangles–one light, one dark, one light, one dark, etc., until the block is “big enough.” The square is half dark and half light, with the dark logs going one direction and the light logs going another. Blocks can be made with 1-1/2″, 2″, or 2-1/2″ strips, as desired. Rebecca Carter, innovative quilter and teacher, will lead us through a fun-filled class creating half log cabin blocks in colors and sizes of our choice. Great for novice and expert quilters alike.

Happy February Birthdays!
Thanks to all those birthday quilters who have contributed snacks to our Guild meetings! It’s sure nice to have those snacks at our breaks!
If you have a February birthday, and are willing and able, please bring a sweet or savory snack to the Guild meeting on February 12th. One- to two- dozen pieces is plenty and snacks can be homemade or store-bought. Please let Laurie Downing know by text or email if you plan to bring a treat for the group, so she can plan ahead for the meeting. We appreciate your contributions!
