MAY
It’s hard to believe it is May already; although I know spring is here
because I am constantly sneezing and blowing my nose. Allergy season
isn’t nearly as bad at the coast as it was in the valley so I guess I
shouldn’t complain. I lived in Alaska in 1967 and 1968; when we moved
back to Oregon, I was actually allergic to the sun the first two
summers we were back. Probably because it was only sunny three days
the entire time we lived in Sitka.
Besides having allergies, I have guilt in the spring. I sit in my studio
thinking I should be out weeding my flowerbeds instead of sewing. Of
course, the perfect excuse is “I have to get these quilts ready for the
show.”
Speaking of the show, I hope all of you have signed up for a
shift or two. It takes many hands to put on our show and we all need to
pitch in. Not only does our show give us all a chance to showcase our
quilts, we have the opportunity to sell quilts and items in the boutique.
I have belonged to the Eugene guild, Emerald Valley Quilt Guild, for
over thirty years. We are not allowed to sell our quilts nor do we have
a member boutique. Be sure and remind anyone you know who may be
coming about the change in dates this year. The show is July 31 and
August 1. Quilt intake is July 27 and set up is July 30. Pamela Potter
has the sign-up sheets and can tell you where help in needed.
Happy spring and happy quilting.
