Quilt Show Volunteers Needed

Many thanks to the many members who have already volunteered!! We are less than one month away from the show with only 5 positions to staff on Friday (all from 2:45 – 5:00) and 14 positions to staff on Saturday (time slots open throughout the day).

It is very important we staff the breakroom to ensure we have an eye on the personal items stored there and to welcome incoming volunteers.

Membership/Guild Activities is in need both days. Documentation needs another person on Saturday. There is already one very experienced person scheduled in each time slot, so, don’t worry, you don’t have to be an expert.  If you have ever taken a quilt to be documented, you will be able to describe the process to any interested show attendee.

If you can help out in any area, please reach out to me (Debby) using the contact information on the schedule or come see me at the meeting on Thursday to sign up.

We appreciate you!

Debby and Pamela

Request for a Quilter
We got a request from someone who recently moved here who would like to find a quilter to make a quilt to honor his deceased father (see below). If anyone is interested, please let me know. I have his email address to make a contact.

“Hello,

I’m not sure how to find a quilter. I came across your site. I am wanting to find someone to make a quilt for me. My father passed away last year and I have a bunch of his shirts. I’d really like something made with them. I just moved to this area so I am not familiar with anything here yet. Could you help me with this? I appreciate any help you can give. Thank you!  Jay G.”

Small Quilt Display

Thanks to all of you who donated a small quilt for the silent auction at
the quilt show. We received a total of 33 items, and all of them are
very special. A sampling of the quilts are currently on display at the Newport
Library. Unfortunately, there wasn’t room for every quilt, but
the display showcases the wonderful talent we have in the guild. Stop by to
see the display and vote for your favorite quilt between now and
July 29. See you at the show July 31 and August 1!

More Veterans Quilts Needed

First off, thanks for all of the support over the past three months. You are all amazing!

I am needing more completed quilts for the show. We are presenting to six
veterans and will need four more for the hallway. I am short several. If you have
time to complete quilting or binding any that you have at home, it would be
great!

Bring them to the Guild meeting on July 9 or to Veterans meeting on July 23.

We will be presenting quilts to female veterans at the November meeting. I
would like to have some more feminine quilts ready by that date.

Thanks again,
Jennette Buss
